FTP-based job submission facilities: ftp.kap.co.uk Web-based upload facility through this website (www.kap.co.uk). Accessible through any browser, without special software. Files uploaded can be immediately accessed by our Studio Team.
Visual Proofing and Short Run Digital Mono Digital Printing:
Canon GP605 digital mono printer with saddle stitching, hole punching and finishing unit attachment (up to 60 A4 copies per minute).
We also run a Canon GP405 digital mono printer with saddle stitching and finishing unit attachment (up to 40 A4 copies per minute).
These 2 devices can be run in conjunction with our database management systems - which allow creative use of variable data. For colour variable data applications - see below!
Colour Digital Printing:
Canon CLC1150 running with ZX35 RIP. This digital colour laser printer provides unrivalled image quality, and can print fully bled A3 on oversize paper. It can handle stocks up to 209 gsm, and can print double sided.
Combined with our database management systems, we can provide stunning quality colour variable data print solutions for many requirements, such as Direct Mail, Account Statements, On-demand Product Literature applications etc etc
HP Indigo Digital Press (run by an associate company).
This SRA3 device has a greater substrate flexibility and speed than our CLCs. It also highly suitable for variable data applications - including membership and other data cards.

Repro
Scanning
CreoScitex Smart 342L Scanner. Max input size: A3 flatbed. Can cope with reflective and transparent originals. Has a hi-res line work option for digitising base artwork to LineWork (LW). This can be coloured using CreoScitex Remake, to produce extremely hi-res files.
RIPing/Normalising
Creo Prinergy 3.0 RIP which uses the NORM workflow concept- "Normalise Once, Render Many". This generates a digital master PDF from the input files provided, which then can be rendered to plate, to soft proof, to profiled inkjet etc. We also provide a web-based soft proofs via our Insite portal - see below.
Contract Proofing
We provide a web-based softproof and job submission system - "Insite" at http://insite.kap.co.uk. for many clients, web-based approval is sufficient for their needs, especially if agreed colour standards are in place. Softproofing can speed turnround, and reduce costs of transport etc, whilst simultaneously cutting transport miles and pollution.
Top quality hard copy proofs are output using our calibrated and Profiled Creo Integris 800 - which allows both proofing and large format output (up to B0)
Runs Profile Wizard Spectrophotometric calibration. As standard we use FOGRA printing standards for our proofing and printing, with two profiles. ISO Coated, and ISO Uncoated are the 2 profiles, and these can be downloaded from http://www.eci.org.
 We are very experienced in generating ICC profiles for ours and other people's presses - and this allows us to output IRIS proofs that accurately reflect what will be seen on the press. For some customers, they prefer to see proofs conforming to Eurostandard (or other targets). We can provide INTEGRISes to these specs also.
CTP - or more accurately "CTNPP" (Computer to No Process Plate)
Kodak/Creo Magnus 400 Quantum - B2 CTP Thermal imaging engine with punch. Quantum version with SquareSpot™ Technology allows extremely accurate imaging and repeatability. Runs Kodak ThermalDirect™ true "no process" plates, for zero hazardous waste, zero water use, zero chemical use from this process.
